Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) visited the Ku’msusan Memorial Palace of the Sun at midnight (NKST) on February 16 (Friday), the birth anniversary of his father, late DPRK leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il). Among those in attendance with him were Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Vice Chairman and State Affairs Commission Vice Chairman Choe Ryong Hae [Ch’oe Ryong-hae], WPK Vice Chairmen Pak Kwang Ho [Pak Kwang-ho], Ri Su Yong [Ri Su-yo’ng], Kim Phyong Hae [Kim P’yo’ng-hae], Thae Jong Su [T’ae Cho’ng-su], O Su Yong [O Su-yo’ng], An Jong Su [An Cho’ng-su], Pak Thae Song [Pak T’ae-so’ng], Kim Yong Chol [Kim Yo’ng-ch’o’l], Choe Hwi [Ch’oe Hwi] and Pak Thae Dok [Pak T’ae-tok], WPK Inspection (Control Commission Chairman and WPK Organization Guidance Department Senior Deputy Director Jo Yon Jun [Cho Yo’n-ch’un], WPK Central Committee Department Directors and Deputy Directors Ri Il Hwan [Ri Il-hwan], Ri Chol Man [Ri Ch’o’l-man], Kim Yong Su [Kim Yo’ng-su], Hong Sung Mu [Hong Su’ng-mu], Ri Man Gon [Ri Man-ko’n], Jon Il Chun [Cho’n Il-ch’un], Jo Yong Won [Cho Yo’ng-wo’n] Kim Kyong Ok [Kim Kyo’ng-ok] and Hwang Pyong So [Hwang Pyo’ng-so’], along with other WPK Central Committee cadres, functionaries and officials. Also in attendance were semi-retired senior officials of the WPK Central Committee including former WPK Vice Chairman for Propaganda and Agitation Kim Ki Nam [Kim Ki-nam], former WPK Vice Chairman for Science and Education Choe Thae Bok [Ch’oe T’ae-pok], former WPK Vice Chairman for Planning and Finance Kwak Pom Gi [Kwak Pom-ki], former WPK Secretary of Munitions Industry Pak To Chun[Pak To’-ch’un] and former WPK Propaganda and Agitation Senior Deputy Director Ri Jae Il [Ri Ch’ae-il].
Kim Jong Un entered the hall where the statues of Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and KJI stand. A floral basket from Jong Un was placed in front of the statues. along with a floral basket sent jointly by the WPK Central Committee, the WPK Central Military Commission [CMC] and the DPRK State Affairs Commission. Kim Jong Un and the other WPK Central Committee officials “paid high tribute” to the KJI and KIS statues.
Kim Jong Un entered the chamber containing Kim Jong Il’s preserved remains, bowed and “paid deep homage.”
