Research and Analysis on the DPRK Leadership

More from the East

The trickle of news reports on US President Barack Obama’s two-day visit to Seoul continues.  JoongAng Ilbo has a nice summary of the Obama-Lee meeting with includes a KCNA-esque run down of the members of President Obama’s travel party.    JoongAng Ilbo also includes a preview of the Bosworth-DPRK meeting, announced during President Obama’s Seoul sojourn.  Chosun Ilbo has a pair of follow-up reports about Obama’s trip, both of which related to PRC-ROK relations.  One finds China asserting its regional influence, particularly in being forward-leaning on the Six Party-Talks.  The other report is an account of a lecture by a South Korean expert who is asserting that Chinese policymakers are concerned with stability in the DPRK.
