Kim Yo’ng-suk (Kim Yong Suk)

Kim Yo’ng-suk (Kim Yong Suk) is Kim Jong Il’s third wife.  She is also known as his official wife because her marriage to KJI was recognized by Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng).  She works as an official in the CC KWP Organization Guidance Department.

Kim Yo’ng-suk was born in 1947.  When she married KJI in October 1973 her father was a leading official at Cho’ngjin Communist University in North Hamgyo’ng Province.

Kim Yo’ng-suk gave birth to her older daughter, So’l-song (Sul-song) in 1974.  Around 1976 she gave birth to Kim Ch’un-song, her youngest and last known child with KJI.  She lived with him from the 1970s until the early 1980s.

Kim Yo’ng-suk lives in an elites’ neighborhood in central Pyongyang.
