Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Committees in DPRK Cabinet Ministries [hereafter, Cabinet Ministry Party Committees] held enlarged plenary meetings last between 14 March (Tuesday) and 17 March (Friday).  Expanded plenary sessions of the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Land and Maritime Transportation, the Pyongyang Construction Commission, State Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Physical Sports were held to implement the guidance passed during the WPK Central Committee plenum earlier this month.

The meetings included reports in which “the important conclusion, made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) at the plenary meeting of the WPK Central Committee, indicates the principles and fighting strategies arising in achieving the sustained and systematic development of agricultural production under the uplifted banner of the rural revolution and turning the countryside into a highly civilized and rich socialist paradise.”  They “comprehensively analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience gained in implementation of the resolutions of the relevant Party committees last year as well as the shortcomings and lessons drawn from them.”

The Cabinet Ministry Party Committee meetings “discussed the issues for making the masses have a deep understanding of the intention of the Party Central Committee, which set the attainment of the grain production goal as the first target of the 12 major goals for the development of the national economy, and for strengthening labor and material support to the countryside.”  The meetings also addressed “urgent issues arising in thoroughly implementing the national economic plan and financially guaranteeing the comprehensive development of Korean-style socialism.”

The Cabinet Ministry Party Committees held sideline consultative meetings for “working out a perfect action program for carrying out the political tasks facing each unit on the basis of the tasks for this year set forth by the 7th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.”
