Joint Slogans Announced for 7th Party Congress

Ideological joint slogans of the Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Central Committee and the WPK Central Military Commission were published on February 17 in the run-up to the 7th Party Congress in May.  According to KCNA the slogans said that the 7th Party Congress  “would be held in the period when epoch-making changes are taking place in carrying out the revolutionary cause of Chuch’e and the cause of the building of a thriving socialist nation would serve as a historic landmark of epochal significance in further strengthening the WPK into the great party of President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) and accelerating the final victory under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n).”

The slogans “underlined that all the Party members, servicepersons and other people should make all-out charge in the struggle for the building of a thriving nation in the same spirit as they displayed the dignity and prestige of Chuch’e Korea and thus clearly show the world how So’ngun (military-first) Korea will work miracles and display fireworks of victory in May” and “pointed out that it is the steadfast determination and will of the WPK to achieve signal successes to greet the Seventh Congress of the WPK through guerrilla-style attack method created by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and make hurrah for the WPK and socialism resound far and wide across the country.”

According to KCNA, the slogans are:

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are the eternal leaders of our party and people and the sun of Chuch’e and the images of the dignified great Paektusan (Mt. Paektu) nation!

Let us spruce up more wonderfully the Ku’msusan Palace of the Sun as befitting the holy land of the eternal sun and devotedly defend it!

Let us eternally glorify the sacred revolutionary careers and immortal feats of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il!

Let us take it as the lifeline and the key point to implement the behests of the great leaders!

Let us develop the WPK into the eternally glorious party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Let us make the whole party a crystal of idea and faith imbued with the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism!

Let us thoroughly apply the people-first principle to the overall party work!
