Joe Bermudez has published issue #6 of KPA Journal. The June 2010 issue completes the author’s survey of the country’s intelligence services in the 60’s, focusing on the evolution of the Reconnaissance Bureau. Bermudez discusses the organization and development of the bureau’s subordinate units tasked with unconventional warfare and the development of the 448th Army Unit (Sea Escort Units). Despite the managerial accomplishments of the Reconnaissance Bureau’s then-director Lt. Gen. Kim Chong Tae, he was dismissed from his position in 1968.
