Yonhap reports the arrest of a South Korean drug trafficker who became an operative for the DPRK. The 55-year-old Mr. Kim was recruited in Shandong Province in 1999 by a female NK agent. He traveled to the DPRK for two weeks of training and was compensated with money and narcotics.
Mr Kim returned to China where he collected information on ROK activists and North Koreans who had migrated to China. He also is alleged to have participated in the abduction of North Korean citizens and turning them over to the DPRK via the NK agent. It is not clear which DPRK agency employed him.
