DPRK Premier Kim Tok Hun (Kim Tok-hun) visited and inspected industrial and agricultural sites in the P’yo’ngan provinces.
The DPRK Premier visited the construction of a chemical plant and he “called on officials to prepare reliable technical forces for further improving the self-sustenance of the chemical industry, carry out the construction plan as scheduled and increase the proportion of locally available equipment and materials and bear deep in mind the importance of the duties that they assumed in implementing the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress.”
Kim Tok Hun visited Rakwon General Machine Enterprise (a.k.a. Rakwon Machine Complex) and “took measures for increasing the production of highly efficient machines and equipment by timely introducing scientific research successes and pushing ahead with the upgrading of production processes in a far-sighted way.” He also visited Sokha Cooperative Farm in Sinu’iju where he “underscored the need to increase the fertility of soil by boosting the production of various organic compound fertilizers and actively introduce high-yielding species who superior have been proven in reality.”
The consultative meetings that Premier Kim convened at these locales “discussed realistic ways to bring about practical changes and substantial progress in the struggle for implementing the first-year tasks of the new Five Year Plan in hearty response to the spirit of the Second Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.”
