DPRK Premier Visits Hamhu’ng

DPRK state media reported on December 26, 2017 that State Affairs Commission Vice Chair and Premier Pak Pong Ju (Pak Pong-chu) surveyed the Hu’ngnam Fertilizer Complex, the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Ryongsong Machine Complex. He was briefed “in detail about the production and projects for increasing the capacities of the complexes” and “encouraged the workers, technicians and officials there”. A consultative meeting was held and they “discussed the issues of bringing about great leap forward in the production of the Chuch’e fertilizer, vinalon and custom-built equipment, more scrupulously organizing business and enterprise management and pushing forward the work for putting production processes on a Chuch’e and modern basis.” He also “underscored the need for the relevant units to send necessary raw and other materials in good time in a responsible manner.” He also toured the Hamhu’ng Branch of the State Academy of Sciences. He “stressed the need to deepen scientific researches for establishing C1 chemical industry”
