DPRK Premier Visits Agricultural Sites in South Hwanghae Province

DPRK state media reported on January 23 (Saturday) that Premier Pak Pong Ju and other senior Cabinet officials visited agricultural-related sites in South Hwanghae Province.  Pak visited an irrigation and waterway project, a tractor accessory factory, a farm machine factory and other farm-related sites.  At a waterway project he “underscored the need to increase the speed of the project and ensure the besquality of the structures.”  Pak was briefed about production at the two factories and he “called on the officials and workers of the factories to boost the production of modern farming machines and tractor parts by displaying the same fighting spirit and work style as done by the workers of Kunja-ri so that farm work is done by machines in the socialist cooperative fields.”  At the meetings Pak Pong Ju held during his visits, he “called on all agricultural workers in the province to make redoubled efforts to step up the preparations for farming in a sense of responsibility that they stand guard over the first line trench on the forefront for defending socialism” and the meetings “took measures for the relevant units to provide to provide sufficient amount of farm materials.”
