KJU Visits Korean Revolution Museum

KJU’s last observed appearance was his attendance at a rocket engine test

DPRK state media reported on March 28 (Monday) that Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) visited the Korean Revolution Museum, which has undergone a renovation project.  Also in attendance were State Affairs Commission Vice Chairman and Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Vice Chairman for Workers’ and Social Organizations Choe Ryong Hae (Ch’oe Ryong-hae), WPK Vice Chairman for Propaganda and Agitation Kim Ki Nam (Kim Ki-nam), Party History Institute Director Kim Jong Im (Kim Cho’ng-im), WPK Organization Guidance Department Deputy Director Jo Yong Won (Cho Yo’ng-wo’n), Party History Institute Deputy Director Yu Sung Hwa (Yu Su’ng-hwa), State Affairs Commission Design Department Director Ma Won Chun (Ma Wo’n-ch’un) and Korean Revolution Museum deputy curator and head of research Pak Kyong Sik (Pak Kyo’ng-sik).

 

Jong Un toured the museum’s exhibits and was briefed about its renovation.  Whilst looking at photos of his grandfather, late DPRK President and founder Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng), his grandmother, Kim Jong Suk (Kim Cho’ng-suk) and his father, late DPRK leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il), he remarked that the “academic system was established well to vividly and visually show the revolutionary histories of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il according to their contents and periods” and Jong Un was “pleased with everything including display form and illumination effect.”  Jong Un said that the “successful remodeling of the Korean Revolution Museum marked a great historic event.  The museum dealing with the whole course of the Korean revolution is a revolution museum of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in name and reality.”

Kim Jong Un noted that a “visit to the Korean Revolution Museum helps one know well about the course covered by the Korean revolution in its development and clearly visualizes the path before us” and he emphasized the “Korean Revolution Museum, ideological and mental mainstay and beacon of our army and people serves as the greatest treasure and textbook of the revolution.”  Jong Un said that it “is an unshakable will of our party to usher in the golden age of education in the revolutionary traditions” and stressed that “to intensify the education in the revolutionary traditions at present is a crucial matter decisive of the victory of the revolution.” He said that the museum has “a very important role to play” and he issued instructions “that would serve as guidelines for managing and operating the museum.”

Jong Un then met with member of the 88th Sniper Brigade and WPK Central Committee Alternate (candidate) Member Hwang Sun Hui (Hwang Sun-hu’i), widow of Ryu Kyong Su and mother-in-law of Personal Secretariat head Kim Chang Son.  He showed “care for her health” and “had a warm talk with her.”  He ended his visit by attending a commemorative photo-op with staff and lecturers of the museum and expressed his “belief that they would perform their honorable mission and duty before the times and the revolution.”
